PAPER PREPARATION GUIDELINES

Papers will be accepted in Turkish and English. (Both Turkish and English abstracts must be submitted together)

  • It is important that papers are designed in accordance with the scientific research process (Scientific research should include problem statement, research purpose and significance, methodology, population and sample selection, data collection process, data analysis, findings, and discussion sections).
  • The abstract should be structured between 400-600 words (both Turkish and English abstracts).
  • The abstract should not contain any citations.
  • Your papers will be evaluated through a blind review process. This means that reviewers cannot see the author(s). Author information is recorded in the Paper Submission System during upload.
  • Please ensure that your paper file does not contain any author information.
  • All papers will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

Paper Presentation Guidelines

Presentations can be made in Turkish or English. Each presentation will be allocated a total of 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

General Presentation Rules:

  • Each presentation is allocated 15 minutes total (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A)
  • Presentations can be made in Turkish or English
  • All sessions will be managed by a session chair
  • Each session room will be equipped with a computer, projector, and microphone
  • Technical infrastructure will be provided for video and internet usage in presentations

Presentation Preparation:

  • Presentations should be prepared in PowerPoint or PDF format
  • It is recommended to upload your presentation file to the online system and bring it on a USB drive
  • You must upload your presentation file to the session room computer 15 minutes before the session begins
  • Approximately 15 slides are recommended for a 15-minute presentation

Tips for Effective Presentation Slide Design:

  • Each slide title should summarize its content
  • Use bullet points instead of long paragraphs
  • Use large font sizes and sans serif fonts (Arial, Helvetica etc.) for readability
  • Use contrasting colors (dark background-light text or light background-dark text)
  • Avoid complex backgrounds
  • Use maximum 1-3 visuals per slide
  • Avoid using all capital letters

Presentation Techniques:

  • Organize presentation in a logical structure (Title, introduction, methodology, findings, discussion etc.)
  • Avoid reading slides word by word
  • Maintain eye contact with audience
  • Use laser pointer to highlight important points
  • Speak with clear and audible voice

Important Notes:

  • Respect time allocated to other speakers during presentation
  • Maintain constructive and academic discussion environment during Q&A
  • Audience should not interrupt the speaker and maintain a respectful listening environment

Technical Support:

  • Technical support is available from congress technical team for pre-presentation issues
  • Opportunity will be provided to test presentation files in advance

VIRTUAL PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

General Information:

  • Online presentations will be conducted through the congress’s official online platform
  • Participants will receive their session information and platform login details via email
  • Online presentations have equal value to face-to-face presentations and will be published in the congress proceedings

Technical Requirements:

  • Stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps upload/download speed)
  • Computer with integrated or connected webcam
  • Microphone/headset for quality audio
  • Up-to-date web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc.)
  • Quiet and well-lit environment

Pre-Presentation Preparation:

  • Your presentation file (PowerPoint or PDF) must be uploaded to the system at least 2 days before the session
  • It is recommended to log in 30 minutes before the session to complete technical checks
  • Participation in the test session is mandatory (date and time will be notified via email)

Presentation Rules:

  • Presentation duration: 10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes Q&A
  • Camera must be on during presentation
  • Keep your microphone on only during your presentation
  • Follow session chair’s directions during Q&A

Presentation Tips:

  • Choose a plain, solid-colored background for professional appearance
  • Ensure camera is at eye level
  • Position yourself to receive natural light from the front
  • Check screen sharing settings when sharing your presentation screen
  • Keep a visible clock on screen for timing

Suggestions for Potential Technical Issues:

  • Have a backup internet connection (mobile internet etc.)
  • Keep a backup copy of your presentation ready
  • Contact technical support team if you experience technical problems
  • In case of connection problems, you are expected to reconnect within 5 minutes

Important Reminders:

  • The session will be recorded
  • Your presentation file will be stored in congress archives
  • Participation and presentation certificates will be sent via email

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Poster Dimensions and Format:

  • Maximum poster dimensions: 130 cm (height) x 90 cm (width)
  • Posters must be prepared in vertical format
  • Materials for poster mounting will be provided by congress secretariat
  • Posters should be readable from 2 meters distance
  • Poster printing service will not be provided at the congress center; participants must bring their posters ready

Poster Content and Design Poster must include following sections:

  • Paper title
  • Author(s) name, surname and institutions
  • Introduction / Problem statement
  • Research purpose
  • Methodology
  • Findings
  • Conclusion and Discussion
  • Contact information

Design Recommendations:

  • Balance between text, visuals and graphics should be maintained
  • Main messages should be clear and understandable
  • Font sizes:
    • Title: 72-84 points
    • Subtitles: 48-60 points
    • Main text: 24-32 points
    • References and notes: 18-24 points
  • Images should be high resolution
  • Institutional/congress logos should be used in appropriate sizes

Poster Presentation:

  • Posters will be exhibited in the poster area on designated day and time
  • Authors should be present at their posters during poster session
  • Presentation duration: 5 minutes allocated for oral presentation and Q&A for each poster
  • Authors are recommended to have business cards and paper abstracts ready for visitors

Important Reminders:

  • Posters must be mounted and removed within program schedule
  • Congress secretariat is not responsible for posters not removed on time
  • Poster presentations will be evaluated like oral presentations and published in congress proceedings
